Mahjong Tower

Mahjong Tower is a single-player mahjong game loosely based on a classic board game from China. Search for the matching tiles to make pairs and remove them from the table. Your objective is to clear them all away, but you can only select uncovered tiles that have a free edge on either the right or left side.

How do you play Mahjong Tower?

This thinking game uses the classic Chinese mahjong tiles and starts with the Tower layout. Your objective is to spot the matching pairs and make a ‘meld’. A meld is a pair of identical tiles that vanishes from the board when both are selected.

You can only select playable tiles, however. Tiles that are playable cannot be covered by any other tile (not even partially). They must also be free to slide out on the right or left side, or both. Try to search for combinations that will free up the greatest number of tiles.

The pairs you choose must be identical to make a meld, but there are exceptions: the Season tiles and the Flower tiles. Each of these sets consists of four single tiles. You can combine any two of them to make a meld. To see what these special tiles look like, tap the ‘How to Play’ button.

Aside from the Tower layout, there are 8 other tile arrangements to unlock. Can you discover them all? If you get stuck, you can shuffle the tiles by tapping the circular arrows icons to the bottom right of the screen. You only have a limited number of shuffles, however, so use them sparingly.
